When Family Becomes Neighbors- Part 2

The only thing better than helping a couple breathe life into their longstanding family home, is to do it for their new neighboring adult children as well. These dual projects happened about 3 years apart. First, Studio 360 was enlisted to provide direction and guidance on the extend of renovations needed to the home of a couple, who had raised 4 children in the family home. The house was in need of both maintenance as well as a re-fresh. The design provided a clean, fresh and bright aesthetic taking advantage of views to a stunning rea yard and pool. It also added new dormers, leveled a sunken floor, and added wood beams to bring light and interest into a once dark and avoided room.

The clients were so happy that when it was time for one of their adult children to buy a home in the area, they enlisted Studio 360 again for the renovation of a neighboring property so they could enjoy a shared lifestyle in close proximity to their grandchildren. The second project involved a compelte gut and remodel of that home, including a clever relocation of the kitchen to a 2 story space loving nicknamed “the tumor” because of the odd volume that had been added haphazardly onto the original home.

Both projects together represent a successful implementation of a vision to modernize both homes for each families contemporary lifestyles. They each reflect our values of creating a strong connection with our clients that are sustained beyond the timeline of the project. Now, both families are able to enjoy the benefits of a modern home in close proximity to each other.
